Washington teen fakes pregnancy
When I first caught the above headline on the Google news page, I did the typical double take. It seems a teenage girl in Washington faked her pregnancy for seven months as part of a school project on stereotypes. The only people who knew the pregnancy was fake were her boyfriend and mother. What she found was people treated her differently because of a perceived mistake. People who had known her, been her friend, suddenly found her annoying or needy due to her pregnancy. The teenager announced that she was not pregnant in a school assembly, which shocked the entire student body. I must say, bravo. She exploited the stereotype of a teenage pregnancy in a very harsh way. I think she has a lot of guts.
